About Us – MediSun Medical Centers

In 2017, Alexis and Monica Schloeter, philanthropists with a passion for community service, founded MediSun. But MediSun is more than a Medical Center. It’s a sanctuary where the underserved Haitian and Latino communities find not just medical care, but a comprehensive approach to health and well-being.

Having called the area home for the past 25 years, the Schloeters recognized a significant gap in the medical field for the Haitian and Latino communities. Driven by a vision to fill this gap, they established MediSun. Here, patients are seen as whole individuals, not just a set of symptoms. This vision has been the driving force behind MediSun, propelling it to become a cornerstone of the community.

Our Ethos

At MediSun, we believe that healthcare extends beyond medical treatment. It’s about building a community. Our centers are designed to feel like social clubs, where patients are treated with the utmost respect and care. We provide healthy meals for our patients, ensuring they receive the nutrition they need as part of their overall health management. We celebrate major holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the 4th of July with our patients, creating an atmosphere filled with music, food, games, gifts, and community spirit. At MediSun, every day is a celebration of health and community.

MediSun Medical Centers is proud to serve our community with two convenient locations in Miami and North Miami. Our first location, opened in 2017, is situated in the heart of Miami, serving the underserved Haitian and Latino communities of the surrounding areas. Our newest location, opened in May, 2024, extends our reach further into North Miami, allowing us to serve even more members of our community.

Each location offers the full spectrum of our services, from general medicine and optometry to physical therapy and mental health services. Plus, with our on-site pharmacy and transportation services, we make healthcare accessible for all.
